Help Needed Taking Trees Down

Help Needed Taking Trees Down

Letter from Mark:

Hello!!

I have been communicating with Lori Eberhard, the park manager at George Wyth State Park about the growth of willows that inhabit the shoreline on Brinkers Lake. They never used to be there until the 2008 flood. Once that happened, the resources and funding to maintain areas of the park were cut and now, the benches that were put on the trails are useless because you cannot see the lake since the trees are now out of control.

She mentioned that perhaps the Boy Scouts could help cut down these trees. I have not actually ever used a chainsaw nor do I own one, but would be more than willing to help do this. I bought my house here 10 years ago mainly because of the views from those benches and trails and the lake. I plan on actually buying or renting a chainsaw to take them down.

The benches were built by Waterloo Leisure Services and are dedicated to certain people (I assume they have passed away). One says – “Enjoy The View!”. There is no view. The trees have taken over.

Could you help?

Thank you!

**Mark envisioned that the parents would do most of the chainsaw work, and the boys would help with clean-up.
