Black Hawk County Fair
Did you know that Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach is celebrating 100 years of providing research-based education to Black Hawk County residents? 2012 is the year and the celebration continues at the Black Hawk County 4-H and FFA Fair, on July 24-28 at the National Cattle Congress grounds!
This is a free event– no admission and no parking fees! The kids will love the animal shows– rabbit hopping, horse, swine, sheep, pet shows, etc. AND Lowe’s is offering a free kid’s workshop on Saturday, July 28 from 1 to 3 in Estel Hall.

Starting with the “County Fair Barn Quilt” dedication on Tuesday to the livestock shows to the 4-H exhibits in Estel Hall, there is plenty of family fun at this free annual event. Whether you visit our livestock shows, our State Fair exhibit Project area, listen to Extemporaneous Speaking at the School House, or chat with Elwynn Taylor, discussing his vision of mega-trends in technology, climate and society on Friday, July 27 at 9:00 a.m.– you will experience the very best that Extension has to offer.
