Mike Broadston Takes New Position with Hawkeye Area Council in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Dear Scouters,

It is with mixed emotions that I inform everyone that I will be leaving the Winnebago Council in the middle of October to pursue a career opportunity as the Field Director of the Hawkeye Area Council, Boy Scouts of America (Cedar Rapids).

It has been more than a pleasure serving the Winnebago Council, and more directly the Sun Rivers & Wabuha Districts. Over the past six years, I have truly enjoyed all of my interactions with Scouts, Scouters, parents, and the greater Cedar Valley community. I have seen youth mature, overcome obstacles, and have a better life because of Scouting. This is the biggest reason why all of us serve Scouting and is my inspiration to further the Scouting movement.

My last day with the Winnebago Council will be on Friday, October 18th. As we begin the transition phase, please feel free to reach out to me or to Chris Kangas ([email protected]) as he will serve the Sun Rivers & Wabuha Districts through the end of the 2013 calendar year.

Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve Scouting in the Winnebago Council.

Yours In Scouting,

Mike Broadston
Sr. District Executive
