After viewing the current membership report, we have noticed that many, MANY units have yet to recharter for the coming 2014 year.
There are a fair amount of units that have done the on-line process, but have not yet turned-in the actual paperwork and fees.
Paperwork consists of:
- The new unit roster with required signatures
- Annual Charter Agreement
- Unit Account Authorization
- Journey to Excellence
Fees required are:
- Registration per person at $24
- Accident Insurance per person of $2
- Unit Liability fee at $40
- Boys’ Life subscriptions at $12
Please remember if you do not complete the rechartering process by January 1:
- the unit may not hold meetings
- the unit will not have accident/liability insurance
- youth may not earn awards
- the unit may not sign-up and/or participate in activities until all paperwork and fees are completed

Online rechartering opens on November 1st. It is strongly recommended that you recharter before Thanksgiving and before the rest of the Holidays hit, because chances are you’ll probably forget!

INTERNET RECHARTERING (IR)
You can recharter online here: https://scoutnet.scouting.org/ucrs/UI/home/default.aspx
This web-based system provided by the BSA National Council helps you update your unit’s roster to correct errors for existing members, add new members, and remove members who are no longer in your unit. IR is available to you starting November 1.
IR ACCESS CODE
The access code required to use IR is on a yellow card located in the rechartering packet. The access code changes every year- do no use last year’s code because it will attempt (and fail) to access least year’s information. REMEMBER: YOU ARE A “FIRST TIME USER” WHEN YOU BEGIN YOUR FIRST SESSION FOR EACH UNIT EVERY YEAR!
