Northeast Iowa Council BSA is Putting on Wood Badge 2016

Wood Badge is the peak adult training program. By earning the Wood Badge, a Scouter has the opportunity to:

  • Understand the entirety of the Scouting system & be able to provide age-appropriate activities for youth.
  • Adopt contemporary leadership concepts & learn to apply them to Scouting.
  • Apply the skills learned as a member of a successful working team.
  • Revitalize their commitment to Scouting by sharing in an inspirational experience that renews ideas of leadership.
This training course consists of a participant pre-meeting and two weekend sessions:
Premeeting: Sunday, March 20th at 1:30-3:30 p.m.
1st Weekend: Friday, April 15th, 2016 at 7:30 a.m. – Sunday, April 17th, 2016 at 5 p.m.
2nd Weekend: Friday, April 29th, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. – Sunday, May 1st, 2016 at 5 p.m.

  • Location: This Wood Badge course is being hosted by the Northeast Iowa Council at our home camp, Camp C.S. Klaus just outside of Colesburg, IA.
  • Cost: $225 per person, the early bird rate is $195 if paid in full by March 1st, 2016, and full payment for all is due by March 11th, 2016. Scholarships are available. A scholarship request form is also linked on your right.
  • Medical Examination: Wood Badge is considered a high adventure activity and therefore requires A, B & C of the BSA medical form. This includes examination by a medical professional within one year prior to the course start date.
