Pack 3179 Holds Successful Pinewood Derby

Pack 3179 Pinewood Derby was held Saturday, April 2nd at Lincoln Elementary in Cedar Falls. It was a great day to race indoors. We had 39 cars racing. Family and friends were treated to a great race and snacks. Each car raced in all six lanes and the fastest cars overall and in each rank were awarded trophies, as well as each racer got a Pinewood Derby Medal. Special thanks to all of the volunteers to put the event on, PALS, Lincoln and Cedar Falls Schools, as well as John Luzaich of the Oster Regent Theater of Cedar Falls for emceeing the event and Boy Scout Troop 500 for assisting as well.

Top 3 fastest overall:
1st place: Nolan Farmer, average time of 2.9483 seconds
2nd: Ethan Verbeck, average time of 2.9533 seconds
3rd place: Trevor Huegerich, average time of 2.9588 seconds.

We had some really fast cars, with some great photo finishes. There were a total of 6 cars with average times under 3.0 seconds
