Executive Board Scout Executive Announcement

The Executive Board of the Winnebago Council is proud to announce the selection of James (Jim) Madison as Scout Executive!

Jim began his Scouting career in 2002 as District Executive at the Pony Express Council in St. Joseph, Missouri and was then promoted to Senior District Executive. He moved on to become the District Director in the Ozark Trails Council in Springfield, Missouri. Jim was then promoted to Senior Development Director with the Black Warrior Council in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and then to Assistant Scout Executive with the Black Warrior Council.

Jim is an Eagle Scout who enjoys fishing, golf and collecting vinyl records.

Jim and his wife, Melody, have one child, Zoe, who will be entering her senior year in high school this fall.

“We are delighted to have the experience and passion that Jim brings to Scouting throughout the 17 counties of northeast Iowa. With Jim’s dedication to the principles of the Scout Oath and Scout Law, the Boy Scouts of America will continue to thrive”, remarked Council President Dan Levi and Council Commissioner Paul Lee.

A national search was conducted under the guidelines of the National Office of the Boy Scouts of America over the past two months. Jim will begin his duties on August 15, 2016.<
