Winnebago Council COVID-19 Update – 4/2/2020

Winnebago Council Update on COVID-19 as of 4.02.20

The following information regarding local events and prevention measures is based on the latest available guidance. As this is an evolving situation, this information is subject to change. We will continue to update you on relevant developments, and we appreciate your understanding of any necessary adjustments in the interest of health and safety.

In the meantime, should you have any questions or concerns about a specific upcoming event or activity please reach out to your district executive. We will do everything we can to answer your question(s) using the information available to us.

Based upon Governor Reynolds issuing a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency on 3.17.20 and extending said on 4.02.2020, our efforts to protect the staff and volunteers of the Winnebago Council continue until 4.30.20

Please be advised, until April 30, 2020, we are extending the following changes: 

  • The Winnebago Council Service Center is closed to the general public.
  • Council professional staff will still be working and available via their cell phones and through email.
  • The Winnebago Council National Scout Shop in Waterloo will continue to be closed.
  • The Mason City Scout Shop operated by the Winnebago Council will be closed.

The following Winnebago Council in Person Events have been postponed. We will do everything we can to reschedule postponed events for the near future.

  • Spring Fling for Cub Scouts
  • Order of the Arrow Spring Fellowship
  • Wilderness First Aide @ Hawkeye Community College

The following district events will continue via virtual meetings; Please watch your email for personal invitations to these meetings.

  • River Valley District Roundtable and District Meeting
  • Twin Rivers District Roundtable and District Meeting
  • Lakeland District Roundtable and District Meeting
  • River Valley Eagle Board of Review

The Winnebago Council is putting together curriculum and events for virtual delivery for our Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA Programs! Keep an eye on the various council and district social media channels for updates!
