FALL Program/Popcorn/Youth Recruiting Kickoffs at the August Roundtables
Make plans now to attend your district’s August Roundtable to get your information packets on Fall Programs, Popcorn Sale, and Youth Recruiting. Our committees have been hard at work this summer planning these campaigns and are excited to share them with you. All units should have their recruiting chair, popcorn “kernel”, and as many other leaders as possible attend to hear the latest information.
Twin Rivers- August 5th, 7 pm, Trinity Lutheran, New Hampton
Lakeland- August 12th, 630 pm, United Methodist Church, Clear Lake (Meal will be served)
River Valley- August 14th, 630 pm, Orchard Hill Church, Cedar Falls (Meal will be served)
All meetings will end between 8 and 815.
It’s time to plan for the fall Popcorn Sale
The Winnebago Council will once again partner with the Pecatonica River Popcorn Company to provide our Scouting units with a fun, successful, and tasty fundraising opportunity. This is a tremendous program that allows units and Scouts to earn enough money to pay for their entire year of Scouting, including camp. Make plans now to attend your district’s popcorn kickoff, schedule a Show-N-Sell location, and have fun.
“Get In The Game With Scouting” New Fall Recruiting Campaign to Kick-Off Statewide
The Winnebago Council has teamed up with the other six councils that serve the State of Iowa in a statewide recruiting campaign “Get In The Game”. The three state Regents Football Coaches, Kirk Ferentz (Iowa), Mark Farley (Northern Iowa), and Paul Rhodes (Iowa State) will serve as the honorary spokesmen for this campaign and appear in the recruiting materials. Our plans have been developed for each pack to build a customized recruiting package to encourage young men to join their local pack. Posters, Yard Signs, and stickers are available to help with the recruiting efforts. Packs should contact their district executive or membership chair to schedule their Cub Scout “Signing Day”.
All Cub Scouts are invited to attend “Punt, Pass, and Tackle” in the UNI Dome
Saturday, September 6th the Cub Scouts of the Winnebago Council will take over the playing field of the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls from 1-3 pm for “Punt, Pass, and Tackle”. This event will have several stations on the field for Cub Scouts to display their throwing arms, kicking legs, running ability, and even an obstacle course. Bring a friend and sign him up for Scouting, too.
