With another summer behind us, the Sac-N-Fox Lodge, Order of the Arrow, would like to share about our successful summer as an integral part of Scouts-BSA at Ingawanis Adventure Base. In July, the Braves & Warriors of the Lodge met on the Callout field to showcase our ceremonies, nominate new members to the Vigil Honor and call upon new Scouts & Scouters to join the ranks of Scouting’s National Honor Camper Society. Several service projects were done at Ingawanis Adventure Base including painting different structures, helping set railroad ties along trails, and generally making camp a better place for those who come through our front gate. The Lodge also celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Spreading & Gathering of the Ashes Ceremony. To mark the special event, a patch was designed and is currently for sale on our web page at sacnfoxlodge.org under the online payments tab on the right-hand side. There you can find additional helpful resources about the OA and what the Lodge is doing including where to pay dues online each year. Fall Fellowship has been set one month earlier than previous years to allow new inductees to complete their Ordeal and have a chance to attend the Section C-3A Conclave the following weekend. Fall Fellowship will be held at Ingawanis Adventure Base on the weekend of September 6-8, 2019. The theme for this fellowship is Around the World in 80 Days which will feature activities from different parts of the world. The weekend following our Fall Fellowship is the Section C-3A Conclave. Sac-N-Fox Lodge is one of five lodges within Section 3A, which is comprised of councils in Northeastern Iowa and West-Central Illinois, each bringing in their own traditions. The Annual Conclave rotates each year to a different council camp with Ingawanis Adventure Base last hosting back in 2016. This year’s event is scheduled to be held at Loud Thunder Scout Reservation with the Host Lodge being Konepaka Ketiwa. The event is scheduled for September 13-15, 2019 and is open to all Order of the Arrow Members. More information and to register for that event can be found at sectionc3a.org/conclave. Make sure to mark your calendar for our Annual Winter Banquet which will be held at the Charles City Knights of Columbus Hall on Sunday, January 5, 2020. We would like to extend a large thank you to everyone that came out to Ingawanis Adventure Base this summer to help out with all the different areas of the OA and the Sac-N-Fox Lodge.
