Polar Bear to be offered at Ingawanis on January 25 and February 22

Let’s go Camping …in the snow!!! Cub Scouts are invited to attend the Winnebago Council’s Winter Day Camps, called Polar Bear, at Ingawanis Adventure Base on either January 25th or February 22nd. Come have fun with us in the snow. We have outdoor games, winter skills demonstrations, indoor fun, and warm food. Details are still being finalized, but will be available at the December Roundtables. Save the date now and make plans to join us.

Ingawanis Cabins available for winter camping

Ingawanis Adventure Base offers five cabins that can be rented to Packs, Dens, Troops, Families, or outside groups. Each cabin has electricity and a wood-burning stove for heating in the winter. These are available except for the months of June and July when they are used for Resident Camp. Make plans for a fun night or weekend away and take advantage of Ingawanis Adventure Base’s 400 acres and miles of walking or mountain biking trails. Or, if you would prefer a winter activity bring your cross country skis and snow shoes. We are less than a mile from the Waverly-Denver paved bike trail. We have several sledding hills if you want to come have some fun after a snowfall this winter. Make arrangements through Marissa Ciddio at [email protected] or by calling 319-234-2867.

Improvements made at Ingawanis Adventure Base

We’ve been busy at Ingawanis Adventure Base making improvements on several of our structures so that they are ready for the fall and winter camping seasons. The Director’s Lodge, Cedar View and Robin Hood cabins have new roofs installed. Arrow Cabin has had electrical repairs made. Elliott Cabin and the Dining Hall will have new roofs installed in the next couple of weeks. There are new windows installed in the cupola of the Dining Hall and the old speakers and towers have been removed from the roof. The recently completed Wood Badge course also constructed a new switchback trail between the parade field and Robin Hood Cabin. This spring the horse barn will be re-sided.
