Courageous Bear Scout Stays Calm When Dad Has Seizure

Here’s Ronnie Wilcox’s personal account of what happened:

One night my mom had gone out to a friend’s house and my sister and I were home with my dad. We were upstairs playing when we heard some loud thumps. I called “dad” and started running down the stairs. When we got there I realized my dad was having a seizure. I had my sister get a pillow to stop him from hitting his head on the floor while I called my mom to tell her what was happening. I then asked my sisters to stay upstairs and play while I called 911 to get help. When my mom got home an ambulance was on its way so I went upstairs to help my little sisters stay calm. When the paramedics got to our house I was able to tell them what had happened. It was scary, but I was brave and stayed calm. I helped by making sure my dad didn’t get hurt with quick thinking under pressure.
