Extra Camping Opportunities Available for Summer 2013

Second Chance Week added for Boy Scouts in July

Any Scouts wanting a second chance to work on merit badges this summer will have the opportunity for $150 to work on badges at camp from July 1-5. This camp will be run in the manner of a provisional troop and will allow Scouts to pre-select up to four badges to work on. All meals will be self-sufficient and prepared in the campsites. We will work with Scouts on any of the 131 available merit badges to complete as much of the badge as the camp setting will allow. Scouts must attend one of the earlier weeks of camp with their troop for the special pricing. Any Scout wanting to attend this week, but unable to attend one of the earlier dates may still attend at the price of $200. Interested Scouts should send a letter, in writing, from their Scoutmaster of their intention to attend and which badges they would be interested in working on along with their payment by May 15th to the Waterloo Scout Service Center.

Aquatics and Shooting Sports High Adventures combined

The short-week high adventure programs for Aquatics and Shooting Sports have been combined into a single program during the week of July 8-12. Scouts can choose the Aquatics option, the Shooting Sports option, or a combination of the programs. All options cost $150. Both programs will be self-sufficient tent-camping based at Ingawanis Adventure Base. This program is designed for Boy Scouts and Venturers, 14 and older. The SCUBA option will not be offered this summer. Interested Scouts should send a letter, signed by their Scoutmaster, to the Waterloo Scout Service Center indicating their interest in participating and payment by May 15th.
