New Faces, New Places

The Winnebago Council has several new faces joining our Service Team. Heather Landrum ([email protected]) is our new Customer Service Representative and Registrar replacing Marissa Ciddio in the Waterloo Service Center. Heather is a Shell Rock native who recently graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a minor in Biology. She served as the Camp Clerk at Cub Scout Resident Camp and as the Archery Director for Boy Scout Resident Camp at Ingawanis Adventure Base this summer. Her duties include being the primary contact for questions on Registration, Training Records, the Council Website, and Advancement.

Keely Kangas ([email protected]) will be serving the Lakeland District as District Executive. Keely is a Waverly native who recently graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Psychology and a minor in German. She has served on the Ingawanis Adventure Base staff for the past five years as part of the horsemanship program. She will be living in the Clear Lake/Mason City area. In addition to her district duties she will serve as the staff advisor for the Council Advancement, High Adventure, Day Camps, the Wapsie Wranglers, and Scouting for Food.

Whitney Jackley ([email protected]) will be the new River Valley District Executive. Whitney has served the Winnebago Council for the past four years in the Marketing department moving from an Intern to Marketing Director. A native of Beaman and a University of Northern Iowa Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Whitney has been instrumental in the development of the new council website Winnebagobsa.org, the council Facebook page, and the council blog. She will remain the staff advisor for the Golf Tournament and Marketing Committee and adds the COPE, Aquatics, and Polar Bear/Fall Frolic/Spring Fling committees to her duties.

Chris Kangas ([email protected]) moves from the River Valley District to Twin Rivers as District Director. Chris is a veteran professional Scouter who is in his second term with the Winnebago Council. A Cedar Falls native he has a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Human Development (Non-Profit Management) from Murray State University. His additional council duties include the Klondike Derby, Order of the Arrow, Training Committee, Membership Committee, and the Commissioner Corps.
