Here’s the Scoop on Winter Activities in the Winnebago Council
Winter Activities in December, January, and February
Who says you have to spend the Winter indoors? We have some fun activities scheduled for Scouts to get out and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature at Ingawanis Adventure Base during the Winter months. Further details will be posted to the Council website in the coming weeks, but here are the dates to put on your calendars (all dates at IAB):
Cub Scouts Winter Day Camp Friday, December 28th (Yep, Day Camp in the Snow!)
Cub Scouts Polar Bear Fun Days Saturdays January 26th and February 23rd. (Lots of Winter fun including Snow Shoes, Snow Hockey, and more… Cabin rentals are available for overnight camping.)
Boy Scouts Klondike Derby Saturday, February 16th (Traditional Winter Scout Skills competition in the fashion of the Alaskan Iditarod.)
Ingawanis Adventure Base is Open for Winter Use
If your unit wants to have a fun Winter activity, keep Ingawanis Adventure Base in mind. The cabins are available for rental and all have fireplaces or heating stoves. The sledding hill at Elliott Lodge is available when there is snow on the ground. We also have snow shoes and cross-country skis available for rental at $2 per person. There are miles of excellent trails on property and camp is less than a mile from the Denver-Waverly fitness trail. Make plans now for a fun Winter getaway and call Marissa Ciddio 319-234-2867 or [email protected] to reserve your weekend.
